Rune Wilder (Rŵn Wilder) was born in Cardiff, Wales, into a family of myth, folk tales, and stories of the Otherworld. Named after her grandfather, Rune Mattsson, she carries a traditionally masculine Nordic name and has made it entirely her own. She crossed the ocean and found a home in Monterey, California. Through music, visual storytelling, and The Orb Log, Rune bridges Wales and California: ancient memory meeting a world still inventing its own myth.

Rune is also written as a subtle, modern echo of Anne Brontë, the courageous Victorian author. She shares Anne’s birthday, height, certain physical attributes, and even a beloved dog companion inspired by Anne’s own—not as imitation, but as symbolic kinship between two young women marked by depth, conscience, imagination, and inward fire.
The Orb Log also grew from George’s conversations with his son about dream science, sleep paralysis, memory, and the strange borderlands of consciousness. Lindsay Rhoades’ voice helped shape Rune’s musical identity, while much of the music and visual world surrounding her is created at Mabinogi, a media studio in California and Utah.
