ORCA

Ocean Renewal California Alliance
My soul is awakened, my spirit is soaring
And carried aloft on the wings of the breeze;
For above and around me the wild wind is roaring,
Arousing to rapture the earth and the seas.
- Anne Brontë -
ORCA — Ocean Renewal California Alliance — is a creative ocean-awareness project focused on the California coast. Through documentary film, music, field notes, interviews, and visual storytelling, ORCA highlights the people, places, and ecosystems working toward a cleaner, healthier ocean.

In Rune Wilder’s story world, ORCA is organized by Rune’s sister, Amelia, with Rune working alongside her as a film assistant and ocean renewal advocate. Together, their work gives Rune’s music and adventures a larger purpose: protecting the sea, listening to the natural world, and helping people imagine a more thoughtful future.
Ocean Renewal California Alliance
In the real world, ORCA is part of George David’s documentary and creative work. The project explores ocean awareness, coastal cleanup, kelp forest renewal, marine life protection, local conservation efforts, and the everyday people doing meaningful work along the California coast.

Marine Wildlife Awareness

California’s coast is home to extraordinary wildlife that deserves protection. ORCA helps inspire respect, education, and stewardship for the living world just beyond the shore.

Kelp Forest Renewal

Kelp forests are among the most important ecosystems on the California coast, sheltering marine life and helping keep the ocean in balance. ORCA supports awareness and renewal efforts that protect these underwater forests for the future.

Coastal Cleanup

ORCA supports coastal cleanup efforts that protect beaches, harbors, and marine habitats from waste and pollution. By caring for the shoreline, we help restore the health and beauty of California’s edge.

California Coastal Communities

Healthy oceans and healthy coastal towns belong together. ORCA highlights the people, places, and local efforts working to keep California’s coastal communities resilient, connected, and alive.

Kelp Forests

California's Underwater Cathedrals
Beneath California’s coast, kelp forests rise like living cathedrals — sheltering marine life, feeding ecosystems, and holding together an underwater world most people never see. This ORCA documentary follows the beauty, fragility, and quiet importance of these forests, and asks what we owe to the ocean that gives so much back to us.
